Cree
Several First Nations, and Poundmaker, a Plains Cree chief who died on 4 July 1886.
Poundmaker died on 4 July 1886 after the fighting of 1885. The retrieved pages do not name the Cree. The pack stays unconfirmed.
Origins and formation
The Cree are a North American Indigenous people, numbering more than 350,000 in Canada, one of the country’s largest First Nations communities. There are numerous Cree peoples: Plains, Woodland, Rocky, Swampy, Moose, and East Cree, with the Atikamekw, Innu, and Naskapi closely related. Poundmaker was one Plains Cree chief. He is not all of those nations. No Civilization VII essay covers this people, so none is linked. The published Tecumseh essay is a different person.2
Defining periods
Poundmaker, also pîhtokahânapiwiyin, lived from about 1842 to 4 July 1886. He was known as a peacemaker and a defender of his people, the Poundmaker Cree Nation. His name denotes his craft at leading buffalo into pounds, enclosures, for harvest. In 1885, during the North-West Rebellion, Canadian troops attacked his band and a battle followed. After the rebellion was suppressed he surrendered, was convicted of treason, and was imprisoned. He died of illness soon after. His Chinese name is the standard reading, because the retrieved pages do not print the Cree or Poundmaker.1 4
Leaders
The English hub’s named packs do not include the Cree. The Chinese update notes do not head a block with a name for them. The pack stays unconfirmed. There is no second Cree leader on the pages used here. A missing heading is not a base-game assignment.3 4
Legacy and interpretation
The people’s legacy in the lead is a set of nations across Canada, more than a third of a million people. Poundmaker’s legacy is the craft the name records, the battle of 1885, the conviction, and a death on 4 July 1886. Treating the civilization as identical to that one chief would shrink the nations to one trial. The Tecumseh essay stays a different life.1 2
A closer look
The pages retrieved here do not spell a numeric ability for him. This essay does not borrow one. An absent yield is not the pounds and not 1885.4
In Civilization VI
The pack stays unconfirmed. His Chinese name is a standard reading. Keep the several Cree nations, about 1842, the fighting of 1885, and his death on 4 July 1886 apart. Plains, Woodland, Rocky, Swampy, Moose, and East Cree are named in the people’s lead, with Atikamekw, Innu, and Naskapi beside them. The Poundmaker Cree Nation is his band. The conviction and the imprisonment come after the surrender. Illness, not the battle itself, is the death the biography records. Tecumseh remains a different published life. More than 350,000 Cree people are named in the people’s lead. One chief’s conviction cannot stand for that number. The buffalo pounds explain the name. They do not explain every nation listed beside the Plains Cree. The surrender, the trial, and the illness are three later steps after 1885, and only the last is the death.1 2 4
