Persia
Cyrus's empire from 550 BC, and Nader Shah, emperor from 1736 to 1747.
Cyrus founded the Achaemenid Empire in 550 BC and died in 530 BC. Nader ruled from 1736 to 1747. Persia is a scenario pack.
Origins and formation
The Achaemenid Empire was founded by Cyrus the Great in 550 BC. At its peak it was the largest empire of its time, based on the Iranian plateau and stretching from the Balkans and Cyrenaica to the Indus. By the 7th century BC, Persis, in the southwest of that plateau, had been settled by Persian people. From Persis, Cyrus defeated Media, Lydia, and the Neo-Babylonian Empire. The greatest territorial extent came under Darius, not under the founder. A game slot that also holds an 18th-century emperor is two states in one name.1 2
Defining periods
Cyrus II, commonly Cyrus the Great, lived from about 600 to 530 BC. He was the founder. After Media he conquered Lydia and the Neo-Babylonian Empire and led an expedition into Central Asia. The biography does not, in the sentences used here, date the fall of Babylon. Nader Shah Afshar, born Nadr Qoli, died on 20 June 1747. The lead gives two birth dates, 6 August 1698 or 22 November 1688, and this essay does not pick one. He founded the Afsharid dynasty and ruled Iran from 1736 until he was assassinated during a rebellion. He was a Turkoman Afshar, one of the Qizilbash tribes that had helped the Safavids. The published Civilization VII essay is Achaemenid Persia. It is Cyrus’s empire, not Nader’s reign.1 2 3
Leaders
The hubs, in English and Chinese, list a Persia and Macedon Civilization and Scenario Pack. The Chinese update notes use a different word for “scenario” in the same pack’s name. This essay records both and does not treat them as two products. The commanders page names Nader Shah of Persia and says he requires that pack. Its heading uses one Chinese spelling. The ability line on the same page uses another. The body also shortens him. Those are official forms of one person. Cyrus is not printed on the retrieved 2K pages. His Chinese name in this essay is the standard reading. Nader’s requirement is a sales rule for the persona. The civilization itself is the scenario pack the hub names.4 5 6 7
The commanders page states combat and trade numbers. This essay does not copy them. A sword bonus is not the year 550 BC and not 1736.6
Legacy and interpretation
Cyrus’s legacy in these leads is the founding of 550 BC and a realm whose widest map belongs to Darius. Nader’s legacy is an 18th-century reign, 1736 to 1747, after the Safavids. The Civ7 essay stays with the Achaemenid dynasty. This page holds both game leaders and does not make Nader an Achaemenid king.1 2 3
A closer look
The update notes change a garden’s appeal. They are a balance number. This essay does not copy it. A changed garden is not the founding of 550 BC and not the assassination of 1747.7
In Civilization VI
The civilization is the scenario pack named on the hub. Nader is Leader Pass and requires that pack. Cyrus’s pack is the same scenario pack, and his Chinese name is a standard reading. The published Achaemenid essay is the ancient counterpart. Keep 550 BC, Cyrus’s death in 530 BC, the disagreed birth dates, 1736, and 20 June 1747 apart.1 2 3 4 6
