Origins and formation

Swedish recorded history, as distinct from prehistory, is usually taken to start around AD 1000. Written sources before that are rare and short, and usually written by outsiders. People had lived in the area since the ice retreated, from as early as 12000 BC. Kristina’s reign is not that prehistory. No Civilization VII essay covers this kingdom, so none is linked.2

Defining periods

Christina, Kristina in Swedish, lived from 18 December 1626, which is 8 December in the old calendar, to 19 April 1689. She was a member of the House of Vasa and queen from 1632 until her abdication in 1654. Her conversion to Catholicism and her refusal to marry led her to give up the throne and move to Rome. She is remembered as one of the most erudite women of the 17th century. She wanted Stockholm to be the Athens of the North, and the Peace of Westphalia gave her the special right to establish a university at will. Her Chinese name is the standard reading, because the retrieved pages do not print Sweden or Kristina.1 4

Leaders

The English hub’s named packs do not include Sweden. The Chinese update notes do not head a block with the ordinary name. The pack stays unconfirmed. There is no second Swedish leader on the pages used here. A missing heading is not a base-game assignment.3 4

Legacy and interpretation

The long history’s legacy in the lead is a recorded start near 1000 and a much older human presence. Kristina’s legacy is the reign of 1632 to 1654, the abdication, and a death in Rome on 19 April 1689. The university right is a clause of the Peace of Westphalia, not a founding of Sweden. The old-style birth date and the new-style date are the same day in two calendars.1 2

A closer look

The pages retrieved here do not spell a numeric ability for her. This essay does not borrow one. An absent yield is not the abdication of 1654.4

In Civilization VI

The pack stays unconfirmed. Her Chinese name is a standard reading. Keep about 1000, 18 December 1626, the reign from 1632, the abdication of 1654, and her death on 19 April 1689 apart. The old calendar gives 8 December 1626 for the same birth. People were in the region by about 12000 BC. Recorded history is what the lead starts near 1000. The Peace of Westphalia gives her a right to found a university. That clause is not a constitution of the kingdom. Rome is where she died, not where she was crowned. The House of Vasa is her family. The refusal to marry and the conversion are the lead’s reasons for the abdication, not a second reign. Stockholm as the Athens of the North is her wish, not a Greek colony. The university right does not move the recorded start of Swedish history off about 1000.1 2 4
